Throughout the year, we are always coming together in different ways to worship our Lord. Our priority for spiritual growth is that each member and visitor participate in a community of fellow disciples to grow deeper in faith. That community comes in a variety of ways, including ongoing small groups, book and Bible studies, music ministry, and fellowship groups.
Bible Study
Upper Room Bible Study & Prayer Group
Heidi Schmidt, Facilitator
This warm, welcoming group of Christian sisters meets weekly on Wednesdays at 10 AM in the church chapel. The Upper Room Daily Devotional and selected Scripture for Wednesdays is read and discussed with sisters sharing their faith stories and struggles.
Devotion booklets are available at the church welcome center. You can sign up for free emails of the devotional at UpperRoom.org.
In addition to their weekly meeting, the Upper Room sisters have a vibrant card ministry to those who are homebound, grieving, and ill from our parish and parish families.
Each meeting ends with intercessory prayer for the needs of the parish and each other.
All women, regardless of church affiliation, are warmly invited to be part of this loving group.
Online Bible Study
Join facilitator Heidi Schmidt for our online Bible Study group, which meets on Thursday evenings at 6:30. You will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the Scriptures with the support of a loving church community. Please call the church to get the meeting code.
Children’s Ministry
We want each child to know they are loved by God and that they are created in the image of God. We want them to love God with all their being and to love their neighbors, too. We believe these emphases will prepare each child and student to live fully, not just for themselves but for God and others.
Children’s Church
Sunday’s at 10:30am
In our children’s church, we focus on introducing kids to Jesus in a fun and engaging way. Through singing, crafts, and Bible stories, we help children build a strong foundation of faith. And of course, we always make time for a yummy, kid-friendly snack!
At Mt. Olivet UMC, we are committed to introducing children to Jesus, and we are thrilled to announce that we are launching new and exciting programs for this purpose. Stay tuned for our upcoming announcements!
Other fun children’s activities throughout the year include VBS, Trunk or Treat, a girl’s outreach event, and a Boy’s and Toy’s event.
